Cape Waterfowl belongs to Analie du Plessis, my wife. Together we live out our passion for these charming creatures in keeping and breeding indigenous and exotic waterfowl.

We have a small farm called Benevento, situated in the Western Cape Philadelphia area. I (Francois) am mainly responsible for the building and maintenance of the infrastructure.

In South Africa we have some of the most beautiful duck species in the world. So much emphasis is placed on the “Big 5” that we often forget about the diversity of other birds and animals. Conservation of our own duck species is very close to our hearts. For the protection of a living heritage, it is important to raise the awareness and love for these creatures in our children from a young age.

Our vision is to develop a waterfowl farm as an attraction where people can visit and enjoy viewing a large range of waterfowl species from all over the world. We supply private and public nature reserves, collectors, breeders and hobbyist with stock.
